Columbia Pictures censure le film Brightburn pour échapper à une interdiction aux moins de 18 ans au Royaume-Uni

Le British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) nous apprend sur son site que Brightburn : l'enfant du mal (David Yarovesky, 2019), qui sortira sur les écrans français le 26 juin 2019, a été censuré de deux scènes par son distributeur britannique, Columbia Pictures, afin de ne pas être interdit aux moins de 18 ans au Royaume-Uni : « This film was originally seen for advice at which stage the company was informed it was likely to be classified 18 uncut but that their preferred 15 classification could be achieved by making reductions to two scenes featuring both strong gory images and a dwelling on the infliction of pain and injury. When the film was submitted for formal classification these scenes had been acceptably reduced. » Le film écope donc d'une "simple" interdiction aux moins de 15 ans.

Mentionnons que Brightburn est interdit aux mineurs au Canada, en Hongrie et en Indonésie. Le film est interdit aux mineurs non accompagnés d'un adulte aux États-Unis, il est interdit aux moins de 16 ans en Suisse, aux Pays-Bas, à Singapour, en Irlande, en Lituanie et en Australie, il est interdit aux moins de 15 ans en Corée du Sud.

Il n'a pas encore été classé pour son exploitation en France.
